PRS saved more than 7,114 tons of CO2 in 2019

The plastic repair company contributed to the reuse of more than 1,620 tons of plastic in the past year.

In 2019, the Navarrese company Plastic Repair System 2011, SL (PRS) repaired nearly 100,000 items made of plastic, which meant the reuse of more than 1,620 tons of plastic. By avoiding the disposal and substitution of these products, PRS achieved a retention of more than 7,114 tons of CO2 that would have emitted other alternative solutions to repair, such as recycling, incineration or burial. This represents an increase in emissions savings of 2.8% compared to the previous year.

PRS is a Circular Economy company specialized and pioneer in the repair of reusable Transport packaging (RTP), such as pallets, containers, boxes, or cases, used by various industrial sectors. Plastic Repair has its own certified and patented method, which is currently the most economical and sustainable solution on the market for the management and maintenance of this type of packaging.

COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

With an activity focused on the Circular Economy, PRS maintains a strong commitment to the environment, as a result of which it has recently joined the Lean & Green initiative. A program that hosts the largest European platform for collaboration aimed at reducing emissions associated with the supply chain. With this accession, PRS is committed to developing an action plan to reduce its CO2 emissions.

PRS also has the highest distinction in environmental matters in Spain, the 2018 European Environment Prize, and was also awarded second prize in the European phase. This year it has received the 2019 Pyme Navarra Socially Responsible award from Banco Santander and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks to the service offered by PRS, companies recover their damaged plastic objects, with a cost savings compared to their replacement of around 70% and an emission of CO2 187 times less than recycling them, all this guaranteeing at least 98% of their original resistance and 100% of their functionality. PRS therefore extends the useful life of all these objects.
